Crimean Tatars announced threats from radicals in Ukraine

The radicals are threatening to kill the Crimean Tatars living in the Kherson region of Ukraine if they do not take part in anti-Russian actions, said the head of the regional national-cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars, Eyvaz Umerov.

“I started receiving massive calls from the Kherson region, where Crimean Tatars historically live compactly. Our compatriots report that Ukrainian radicals from the extremist organization "Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People" banned in Russia are exerting pressure, intimidating and threatening violence in every possible way, including against their children, who are studying in the cities of Ukraine that are under the control of the Nazis or are studying abroad,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

Eyvaz Umerov explained that the radicals are demanding that the Crimean Tatars go to protests against Russia, which are then going to be replicated by Ukrainian and foreign media. “The leaders of the Mejlis, having fled first from the Crimea, and now from Ukraine, once again want to sacrifice the Crimean Tatars for the sake of their ambitions and promises made to Western masters,” Eyvaz Umerov said. He urged compatriots to document the threats to the Majlis.

"Evidence of violence against civilians thus obtained will be used against the Nazis in an international tribunal organized against them," he said.
