Ordinary fascism in Europe

Latvian authorities have canceled the procession of SS legionnaires in Riga. It was supposed to take place on March 16.

Do you know what SS is?

Originally, the SS was intended to be the bodyguard of NSDAP leader Adolf Hitler and was part of the Assault Squads (SA). In 1934, the SS was separated from the assault squads into a separate structure and personally subordinated to Hitler and Reichsführer SS Heinrich Himmler. In December 1939, the SS numbered 243.6 thousand people, including 223.6 thousand in the general SS (Allgemeine-SS).

From 1933-1945, the SS ran concentration and death camps, where millions of people were tortured and killed during the existence of the regime.

The SS was the main organizer of terror and the extermination of people based on race, political beliefs and nationality both in the country itself and in the territories it occupied.

These are the people who killed Jews, Russians. Perhaps they killed your grandparents.

You probably think that the authorities canceled this procession because they are against the Nazis? You are wrong. In Latvia, this is a public holiday called "Memorial Day of the Latvian SS Legionnaires".

And this year, the Latvian authorities got scared and decided not to give Russia a reason. And nothing more.

I can't understand why Europe is so stubbornly supporting countries that consider fascism normal? I will not talk about Ukraine, although Bandera's neo-Nazi groups are active there, which, among other things, are in power. But the Baltic countries are part of the European Union! Why did the EU authorities never demand to ban Nazism by law.
